         Eigenvalue calculation, Singular value decomposition, Solution of liniar systems by iterative methods
         Unconstrained optimization
         Numerical solution of ODE
         Numerical solution of PDE by finite difference methods

         Select suitable numerical algorithms for the problem at hand
