Special topics in computer science offered on occasion based on student and faculty demand and interest.

CS 6091 Doctoral Seminar in CS (On Demand) 1-3

From time to time, depending on student demand, a seminar will be offered on advanced topics in current computer science research for doctoral degree candidates.

CS 6461 Advanced Computer Networks f 3

Most advanced research issues in computer networks will be discussed. Topics include overlay networks, anonymity, distributed denial of service, and security in a sensorized universe. With a term project students will experience a full cycle of typical research activities in networking.
Prerequisite:CS 4461

CS 6621 Computer Graphics: Contemporary Modeling and Design Research Topics (On Demand) 3

An in-depth study of recent developments in computer graphics, geometric modeling and visualization, with an emphasis on polyhedron simplification, refinement, surgery, multiresolution representations and geometric compression. In addition, this course will also cover the blossoming principle, scatter data interpolation and approximation d surface subdivision schemes.
Prerequisite: CS 5611 and permission of instructor

CS 6990 Doctoral Research f,s,su 1-9

The study of an acceptable computer science problem and the preparation of a dissertation.

CS 6999 Doctoral Reading and Research f,s,su 1-9

Individual reading and research on current topics in computer science for doctoral degree candidates.
