Linux: Love it. Hate it.

I have been an intermittent Linux user since 2003. My first attempt was with RedHat 9, which, unbeknownst to me, was shortly to become obsolete. Since that time I have tried and discarded enough different distributions to supply a Starbucks with coasters for a year.

My "favorite" distros, roughly in the order that I have used them are: Mandrake (now Mandriva), Gentoo and Ubuntu.

Linux (and all open-source software) is awesome and I use it as much as I can... Which is to say I always maintain at least one computer running Windows so that when my Linux box spontaneously explodes, I still have something that "just works". Unfortunately, the exploding Linux box is an all-to-common scenario in my household. But, like any good co-dependent, it doesn't matter how many times Linux hurts me, I keep coming back for more!
