Sandy is the Graduate Program coordinator and provides day-to-day management of the Department of Computer Science program at Michigan Technological University. She will be your contact person for the Computer Science Department graduate program and the Computational Science and Engineering graduate program from the time you apply to the program until graduation.

She also is administrative support for the Computer Science department operations and maintains the computer science web pages.

Sandy's office can be found in Rekhi Computer Science Hall Room 226 - located in the Computer Science main office area Room 221.


Timeline to Admission
  1. Applications remain in the Graduate School until all required materials are received.
  2. Completed applications are forwarded to the Computer Science Department for review by the Graduate Studies Committee.
  3. Applicants chosen for acceptance are sent letters of acceptance and an offer of financial aid by the Computer Science Department and the Graduate School.
  4. International applicants are sent a "Certification of Finances" form. This form must be submitted to the Graduate School with proof of financial resources.
  5. After the Certification form is received, international applicants will be sent I-20 forms, and information about traveling to and living in Houghton.
  6. Accepted students are asked to send written confirmation of acceptance or rejection of the offer by a deadline specified in the offer letter.
  7. Orientation schedules are mailed to prospective new students during the summer.
  8. Orientation and course registration start one week before classes begin.
  9. The Spoken English Assessment Kit (SPEAK) test will be given to international students during orientation. The Computer Science Department requires all international students to take the exam.
  10. Spring 2008 Classes begin Monday, January 14, 2008!
  11. Summer Classes begin on Monday, May 12, 2008 and Fall Classes begin on September 4, 2008!
